Usually summer causes life to slow down somewhat. There is more pool time, vacation time, icecream time, etc. This summer has been the busiest season of my life!!
Starting in October of 2007 Caleb quit his job with an A/V company because they were 1.5 months behind in paying him. For an entire month we waited on them to pay us, before we filed papers against them at the courthouse. The papers took almost a month to process, then a court date was set. Caleb went to court with this company and they agreeded upon a payment schedule. By February 28th they were to pay $1,500, March 31st $1,500, and by the end of April, the remaining $3,000. Needless to say, February 28th passed without us seeing a single dollar. Several more calls to the company to try to encourage them to pay us, broken promises, blah blah. So then we made several calls to the courthouse only to get a different answer everytime we called. Finally Caleb and I took a trip down to the courthouse and we filed papers to garnish their accounts. We payed a fee to speed the process up, only to find out the extra fee did NOTHING to help us. The bank received the garnishment paperwork, but had 45 days before they had to respond to the courthouse. Finally, mid-June we get a notice saying their account has been garnished for the full amount! Yah!! Next step, we have to send a certifed letter to the A/V company to notify them of the garnishment. We have to provide the returned certified receipt to the courthouse for proof and THEN they will release the funds. So we mail the receipt on June 16th. Then problem 1,000,000,000,000 happens. We don't receive the receipt. After 2 weeks went by (you're supposed to receive it within a few days) we called the post office. They can't find the letter or the receipt, only that the mail carrier left with it on June 17th. So for the past month we have been talking to the POST OFFICE to find out what they did with our MAIL. For real, for all times for the post office to screw up, its with this situation!! Last week, we finally received the receipt. We mailed it to the courthouse, they received it, so HOPEFULLY we will receive the money soon. Now we just have to decide whether to sue again for how much all of this has COST us and for the stocks that were supposed to have been Caleb's. Sigh.
The company I am working for right now converts school/church data into our central organizational database. Summer is the BUSIEST time for us because school is out and they want it done before school starts again. Needless to say, I could clock 80 hours and they wouldn't care.
Speaking of work, I've gotta get back to it....
People aren't confused by the gospel, they're confused by us. Jesus is the only way to God, but we are not the only way to Jesus. This world doesn't need my tie, my hoodie, my denomination, or my translation of the Bible, they just need Jesus. We can be passionate about what we believe, but we can't strap ourselves to the gospel, because we're slowing it down. Jesus is going to save the world, but maybe the best thing we can do is just get out of the way. Casting Crowns

PS Don't use your gym tanning beds too often. Whereas it may not cause cancer it does cause your facial skin to wrinkle faster, and I at least don't want you to LOOK 40 when we hang out. People will think I'm shopping with my mother.
